Since 2010 thousands of vintage lovers have flocked to the Quen Mary to take part in the Inspiration vintage fashion exhibition. This year's Inspiration show is moving to the Spruce Goose Dome, where visitors can expect more than 150 exhibitors.

Expect to see items ranging from American vintage apparel manufactured from the 1900s-1980s to surf and skate exhibitors. Also, every show has a big European and Japanese presence. Along with fashion, the event promises live music, retro cars and bicycles, and food trucks.
The two-day event will kick off on Feb. 7 at vintage store Inretrospect on 4th Street Retro Row in Long Beach. The vintage clothing, art and furniture store will host the kick off cocktail party at from 6 p.m.-9 p.m.
Inspiration will take over the Spruce Goose Dome Friday, Feb. 8 from 4-9 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 9. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit http://inspirationla.com.
This one day sale is hosted by the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles. Vendors will be selling vintage clothing, shoes, accessories, books and other vintage odds and ends in the Egyptian Theatre Courtyard.

Come at 10 AM for ALL ABOUT THE EGYPTIAN, a lecture and tour on the preservation of this landmark of Hollywood history, where the first Hollywood premiere was held in 1922.
The third-annual art, fashion, culture and vintage Inspiration 2012 show drew vintage enthusiasts from around the world. The event was held Friday Feb. 10 and Saturday Feb. 11 on the historic Queen Mary in Long Beach, Calif.
The vintage-inspired show brought together more than 100 local and international vendors and exhibitors, all selling one-of-a-kind merchandise. Vendors displayed and sold vintage and vintage-inspired apparel and accessories. Artist, Jeff Decker, was there with his stunning bronze sculptures of motorcycles along with live musicians and surf and skate exhibitors.

The Inspiration show was produced by Rin Tanaka, a Japanese journalist, photographer and publisher of the “My Freedamn” book series.

The PS Modernism Show was produced by Dolphin Promotions and organizer Gordon Merkle said, "This year we have brought on a dozen new dealers and have coordinated a Vintage Car Show as a part of the event." Merkle also recognized the sponsorship of The City of Palm Springs and appreciates their collaboration and support for the show.

The Queen of Vintage, Kathleen Schaaf, was joined by fashion lovers aboard the Queen Mary on Saturday, Feb 12th as part of the Inspiration 2011: vintage, fashion, art and culture event.

Owner of Meow and vintage fashion connoisseur, Kathleen Schaaf, was featured as the Queen of Vintage after the release of the book Vol. 2 Queen of Vintage. The book was produced by Rin Tanaka as a part of his book series, "My Freedamn" and features photographs of vintage clothing, accessories, and unique finds.

Schaaf feels honored to be dubbed the Queen of Vintage and said, "Rin would come to me to find items to shoot for his previous books and I always had something he was looking for." The Queen has a broad and unique collection of vintage finds she has collected over the past 30 years. She says she finds all of her items the "old-fashioned way" and buys directly from old closed department stores or factories.

Schaaf specializes in finding dead-stock items and continues to find these type of items that have never been worn or used and many times still have the original tags. She says, "The vintage market has changed in the last decade and I see more of an eclectic trend." Although the market is changing she tries to cater to most people's eclectic needs whether it be military, surf, or punk.

The event featured many dealers and artists from the U.S. and other countries all using vintage as their inspiration. A very vintage couple from Colorado featured their quality items at this years show. Love Spy Vintage is owned by Samantha Perala sells vintage clothing and superior quality dead-stock swimwear. Maxwell Shesto showed off his custom wallets that are sure to appeal to any vintage lover.

Vendors came from all over and Ryota Sakai flew in all the way from Japan to present his vintage clothing and motorcycle gear. He also featured a new line of vintage-inspired men's shirts.

Jeff Decker creates bronze sculptures of motorcycles, cars, or anything mechanical. The sculpture pictured above is a recreation of Rollie Free's record breaking ride in 1948 where he rode a Vincent HRD for 7 1/2 miles accelerating up to the speed of 162 mph and 165 mph with his clothes off.

The West-coast premeire of the Braniff vintage airline uniform collection will be exhibited at the Riviera Hotel with the opening reception on Wednesday, February 22nd. The exhibit features the work from 1960's fashion designers Terry Labus for Nardis, Halston, and Emillio Pucci.
